Ubisoft launches yet another Subscription service. Ubisoft certainly has caught the subscription bug. After rebranding Ubisoft Plus several times, the company will launch another dedicated subscription service, this time for its hit live service game Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
Nintendo will acquire US game developer Shiver Entertainment from Embracer Group (which acquired the company in 2021 as part of a package involving five companies worth $339M) for an undisclosed sum. Shiver is best known for its port work and most recently handled the Switch ports of Warner Bros’ Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1.
Building on the tremendous success of the Mario and Sonic movies and the sales boost in the Fallout franchise following the Prime TV show, numerous video game IPs will now receive the big and small screen treatments. The Hollywood Reporter states that Square Enix’s Just Cause movie is in the works. Additionally, a new animated Minecraft series has been announced for Netflix. The series was revealed as part of Minecraft's 15th year anniversary celebrations.
Microsoft plans to integrate the AI tool Copilot into Minecraft and all future Xbox games. Microsoft Copilot is a suite of tools based on OpenAI's ChatGPT and Dalle-3 language models designed to assist users with everyday queries.
