- Google has announced that its gaming platform Stadia will be winding down operations, coming to an official close in February 2023. Owners of Stadia will be able to access their libraries until January 18. Refunds of all games and add-ons bought through the Stadia store as well as refunds of hardware purchased through the Google Store are expected to be enacted by mid-January.

- E3 2023 will take place next year from June 13-16 at the LA Convention Center in Los Angeles. The first two days will be business-centric, the third day will be for both businesses and consumers, and the last day will be consumer-centric. E3 will be adding some new features to the event, including a meeting space where those attending the event can hold gatherings and connect via the E3 application.
- Netflix is planning to take its next step into the gaming industry by opening up its own gaming studio in Helsinki, Finland, following its previous acquisitions of some smaller gaming companies. The effort to establish this new studio will be spearheaded by Marko Lastikka, former executive at Electronic Arts and Zynga.
- Savvy Games Group, owned by the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund, has decided to invest the equivalent of £32bn into the gaming industry in an effort to diversify its economy to industries other than oil. SVG has named as one of its goals to make Saudi Arabia “the ultimate global hub for the games and esports sector by 2030.”
- The Ubisoft title Skull & Bones has been delayed once again – this time until March 9, 2023. The title has been repeatedly pushed back, most recently expected in November of 2022 before this new announcement.
- Valve has incorporated a new “Steam Charts” feature for games on its marketplace. This feature will replace Steam’s previous “stats” page and include rankings in ream-time of top-selling and most-played games. Additionally, it will include a list of the week’s as well as the month’s top new releases
