• • Apart from Microsoft, Capcom was the only publisher to have a dedicated gameshow this year. In a 30-minute video half a dozen games were showcased but none were new announcements. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (2022) was DLC, Street Fighter 6 (2023), Exoprimal (2023), Resident Evil Village DLC (Shadows of Rose & The Mercenaries: Additional Orders) and Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) were the highlights. Capcom is playing to its core audiences with games and gameplay that its fans love best.

  • The Future Games Show 2022 was a 90-minute video that promoted indie games. Over 30 games were shown.

  • The PC Gaming Show 2022 was 180 minutes long. Over 40 games showcased, most were indie games.

  • Small game publisher, Devolver Digital, went public just last November. Then the share price launched at $185, today it is valued at $61 – a decline of 2/3 since launch. The reason for the share price collapse came from a company statement which warned of lower sales forecast. Even with the lower expected sales forecast the company has still forecasted the year to end +30% higher to reach between $130 million - $140 million. It expects it net income to fall between $27 million - $32 million.

  • Consumer UK magazine, Which, that champions consumer rights has reported that two in five Joy Cons for the original Nintendo Switch experience drifting issues.

  • Switch has now surpassed the sales figures of the 3DS in Japan, and as a result has become the third bestselling console of all time in the country. The Switch has sold 25M units compared to lifetime Japanese sales for Game Boy 32.4M units and the DS 32.9M units.
