- Twitch is making further changes to its UI. The tag system will soon be updated so that streamers can create custom tags. Additionally, the maximum limit will increase from five to ten. Other new features include “Guest Star”, which will allow streamers to host up to five other streamers on their channel, and “Channel Switcher”, which will allow viewers to easily cycle between streams.
- Spanish Twitch streamer Ibai Llanos Garatea has set a record for concurrent viewership, with a peak of 3.3 million viewers. Viewers tuned in to watch a series of boxing matches. The event brought over 400k new followers, bringing his total followers to over 11 million. Ninja remains at the top with 18 million.
- Nintendo hosted another Nintendo Direct. The 28-minute video included up to 30 third-party games that were announced for the Switch. Highlights include Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak (2022), Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection (2023), Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (2022) and A Plague Tale: Requiem (2022).
- Activision Blizzard has confirmed that Overwatch 2 will replace the original Overwatch upon release in October. All player-unlocked content from the original game will automatically transfer to the new game.
- Konami has secured Inter Milan as an eFootball exclusive team starting in July 2024. This is a blow to EA which will launch the new EA Sports FC (replacing FIFA) in that year.
- SEGA is increasing its cinema and TV production. Atlus games that include Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, and Catherine are candidates for a potential live-action film and TV adaptation.
- Sony has announced a new brand called “Inzone”. These will be Sony made PC gaming peripherals. Included in this new line up of Inzone tech are monitors (M3 and the M9) from €1000 and noise cancelling headsets (H3 and H9) from €100.
