    • Due in large part to a decrease in sales of hardware, Nintendo’s net sales declined by nearly -5% to $2.3 billion in Q1 (April – June) 2022 versus last year. The decrease in Switch sales is particularly significant, dropping -23% from Q1 2021 to 3.4 million units sold. Despite this decline in sales, since the Nintendo Switch’s release in March 2017, it has sold 111 million units, approaching lifetime sales for the Game Boy at 119 million and the DS at 154 million units.

Sony argues that Call of Duty is truly a game series without a rival. The large budget, huge resource allocation, and devoted fanbase cultivated over the years have allowed COD to pave its way as a unique entry in the industry.

    • EA Sports has signed a “one of a kind, multi-year partnership” with La Liga, the top football division in Spain, including some of the largest football teams in the world, such as Barcelona and Real Madrid. This deal will cost EA €30 million per year and will begin in the 2023/24 season.
