• • Sony will buy Bungie for $3.6 billion. In a blog post by Jim Ryan, boss of PlayStation, he stated "This is an important step in our strategy to expand the reach of PlayStation to a much wider audience. We understand how vital Bungie's community is to the studio and look forward to supporting them as they remain independent and continue to grow.” Destiny 2 will continue to be multiplatform, including the expected expansion The Witch Queen.

  • GPU manufacture AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) reported its year-end financials ending December 2021. 2021 revenue reached $16.4 billion, an increase of +68% compared to last year. Net income increased to $3.2 billion, an increase of +27%. AMD successes are numerous sourced with AMD technology in cloud services such as AWS, Meta (Facebook) and Google, expansion of server programs and sales of its premium GPUs which power the Radeon 6000 cards.

  • According to Business Insider, Google is actively looking to sell Stadia technology to other game publishers. Google has reportedly approached Bungie and Capcom with the business prospect that Google would handle the streaming technology side of things, while the publishers handle the store front.

  • Discord has expanded its sign in to include PSN accounts in the US. This will enable Discord users the ability to see friends who are playing PlayStation games live. Roll-out on other territories for PSN Discord accounts is expected this year.

  • Rockstar has confirmed it is working on GTA VI.

  • According to sources in Hollywood, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s new movie will be based on Call of Duty. In an interview with Men's Journal, Johnson briefly mentioned he was working on bringing "one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen".

  • The hugely popular game It Takes Two, by studio Hazelight, has partnered with dj2 Entertainment to being the game to the big screen.
