Meet Manuel - Business Analyst

Can you introduce yourself?

I am Manuel González, I am 26 years old, and I live in Madrid and work as a Business Analyst in the Spanish office. I graduated in Marketing and Business Management at ESIC Business School. After graduating, I decided to move to Australia to keep developing my skills (personally and professionally) and studied in Greystone College in Brisbane where I graduated in Marketing and Communication. The year in Australia plus the year I studied in United States back in 2011 helped me learn a lot about new cultures and improve my English level as I fully work in English!

Can you explain your role at ✨Sparkers ✨?

When I started, I was the analyst of Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Lots of countries for a newbie! As the time went by, they gave me Middle East and the publication of the Combined Retail & Network Data. I really appreciated the trust and support.

Last year, my territories changed and now, I am in charge of Italy, Spain and Portugal. I was very happy with the change as I have lots of more things in common with these countries. Working hand in hand with my colleague and friend Juan makes it perfect!

What does a normal day for you look like?

It depends a lot on the days. The first days of the week, I have meetings with my team to organize the week and to see if any of my teammates need help or could help me with my duties or any tricky tasks.

After this, it is more customer based. I am in contact with our clients and responsive to their questions. I try to help them so that they make the most out of our platform. The end of the week is more publication related. I work on the markets, stay in contact with publishers and distributors, and analyze the trends to publish the most accurate figures possible.

Why do you like ✨Sparkers✨?

Since the beginning, I really liked the company's culture and full transparency. You never feel like you are less than anybody, and you always know that you can talk to anyone at anytime.

Also, I appreciate how the company has adapted to the crazy times we are living in terms of work-from-home and the way that you always feel like part of the family and never like just a number.

What are your favorite video games & hobbies?

I am a big fan of FIFA and Call of Duty! Ever since I remember, I have always had the FIFA game the very first week of the release. My parents bought it for me and my siblings. Also, I have spent nights playing COD with all my friends until the sunrise (no joke!). This year, I started playing Formula1 but I am very bad and I always finish last, but I promised not to give up!

I have always been very interested in sports. Since I was a kid, I have followed Real Madrid in football, Rafa Nadal in tennis and Fernando Alonso in F1. When I went to the USA first and then to Australia, I started following boxing and UFC and totally loved it. Also, almost 2 years ago I started doing CrossFit and I feel like I have found what I love to do most!

Last but not least, I like all movies and tv shows! I watch them all and I really like to discuss the episodes and the movies with my colleagues at the office! It is really fun.
